Orange has created a two-channel 30-watt amplifier that has a lot of bite. The AD30HTC has been wired with four 12AX7 Pre-Amp tubes, four EL84 Power Tubes, and one GZ34 Rectifier Tube. This Class A amplifier has two dual-stage channels with entirely separate signal paths, making channel switching easier. The range of tones accessible through the Orange AD30HTC makes this a great amp for any guitarist, no matter the genre.
The first channel is the lower gain channel of the two. It has a classic clean sound at all volume levels. While it has a great, thick clean tone, you can also get a huge amount of bite when the gain knob is turned up. The second channel is voiced with higher gain and more bounce than the first channel, but you can still get a really warm clean, too. The upper mids are more pronounced on Channel Two, as well.
The controls are very straight forward on the AD30. Each channel has dedicated controls for Master, Treble, Mids, Bass, and Gain. Between the tonal capabilities of each channel, the dedicated controls, and the durable construction, this amp really lives up to the Orange legacy. HANDS DOWN,ONE OF THE FINEST 30 WATTERS EVER PRODUCED…IT HAPPENS TO BE MY GO TO AMP FOR ALL OCCASIONS…I GIG WITH IT,PRACTICE AT HOME WITH IT,AND IT HAS A HECK OF A PERSONALITY…WHICH IS REALLY AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN A DECENT COMBO. I HAVE OWNED NEARLY ALL OF MARSHALLS TUBE LINE,AND THIS AMP DOES THE BEST JOB OF BRITISH CRUNCH I EVER HEARD. ITS A HARD AMP TO BEAT,OR TO SAY TOO MUCH BAD ABOUT.MAYBE ONLY LACK OF REVERB…GET ONE,YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED,AND BECOME AN ORANGE DISCIPLE FOR LIFE… ROCK ON!!!!
