Peavey Valveking 212

Peavey ValveKing 212 Guitar Combo AmplifierPeavey’s ValveKing series uses innovative technology that sets them apart from their competitors. Their ValveKing head and combos have a Texture control feature that allows the guitarist to play the amp using Class A power, Class A/B power, or any mixture of the two choices. This feature makes it possible to get just about any tone out of the ValveKing 100-watt head, 1×12 Combo, or 2×12 Combo.

These amps have two footswitchable channels, however the footswitch is sold separately. The first channel is for clean tones, and the second is for your gain. Each channel has its own Volume, Bass, Middle, and Treble knobs. The Clean channel has a Bright switch, and the Gain channel has a Boost switch. All models have a Master Reverb control, and the head has Resonance and Presence controls. A buffered effects loop is standard on all models, as well.

This series of amps uses 12AX7 Preamp Tubes and 6L6GC Power Tubes. The number of tubes used depends on the amp being used. The 100-Watt head and 2×12 combo use three 12AX7s and four 6L6GCs. The 50-Watt 1×12 combo uses three 12AX7s and two 6L6GCs. The head and 2×12 combo can be played at 4, 8, or 16-Ohms and have dual parallel speaker jacks, while the 1×12 only has the ability to be played at 16-Ohms. The speakers used in the combos are specially voiced twelve-inch ValveKing speakers.
