Blackheart Engineering’s BH5H and BH5-112 amplifier, also known as the Little Giant, is a small amp with big sound. This 5 Watt amp has Single-Ended, Class A circuitry. It gets its sound from one EL84 power tube and one 12AX7 preamp tube. A Solid-State Rectifier has also been implemented in the Little Giant. The only controls include Volume, and a Three-Band Equalization of Treble, Mids, and Bass.
While the Little Giant has only a single channel, it does have a Pentode/Triode Switch, allowing you to switch between 3 Watts and 5 Watts. This allows you to get great tone anywhere, whether it is in your bedroom or in the studio. The 5 Watt (Pentode) mode will give you a raunchier sound, even at lower volumes. If you are just looking for a moderate sound, the Triode mode will give you what you need.
As for the physical nature of the amp, it has an 18 mm thick, 15-ply void-free birch plywood construction, 16-gauge steel chassis, and 1/2” corner radiuses for durability, and thick tolex for added protection.
